Pros: -Sleek, looks good.RGB is good, looks nice.Smells like a strawberry after a few months of use from the front vent area.Nice buttons. Cons: -Using Chroma profiles over wireless is a no go as they lag stutter and freeze constantly. The mouse also lags, stutters and freezes a lot, usually at the most inopportune of times no matter if it's on wired or wireless mode.Cost, for this much I should at least be getting a functional mouse that works all the time, or at least has a few hiccups rarely, but this mouse does not, It's come to the point now that when I lift it from the dock the RGB flashes all over the spectrum and it loses connection then gets it about 10 seconds later.
Razer Mamba, Razer Imperator, Razer Starcraft II peripherals, Razer Lachesis 5600dpi, Razer Abyssus, Razer TRON peripherals, OSVR Razer Audio. Razer Software Razer StarCraft II Products Razer Stargazer Razer SWTOR Products Razer Systems Razer TRON Products Razer Turret xPowered By Razer: Back.
Other Thoughts: -Not recommended, find something cheaper and better, wish I had gone with Logitech or something else.Got another mouse as a warranty replacement and after a month it had developed the same issues and the weird strawberry smell. Pros: Nice lighting effects ability to sync it to a mouse pad for precise operation. The fact is recharges is awesome and the ability to switch the wire from the dock to the mouse for charging and recharging is a great idea. Cons: I'm sure most of the cost is because of the lithium battery but the mouse will not work with their original lighting software so you can not sync it up with any of their other products.
Other Thoughts: With knowing they never made their software for lighting effects work with this new mouse and you have to download a seperate one from them I would not have bought it if I knew that. Pros: -Can switch between wireless and wired -Charging stand isn't too intrusive -I like the weight and feel. Cons: -The LED's on the side no longer work unless it is actively charging on the dock.Razer Synapse (the mouse's software) is a garbage buggy program.Wont work more than 3 feet away from the receiver (I have a living room setup) -The Optical sensor just doesn't work sometimes.
I can still click but it stops tracking.Battery (after a year of having it) wont hold a charge longer than a couple hours. The dock also says it is fully charged then when I reseat it, it says low battery. Other Thoughts: This product was great when it worked, which only lasted about 4 months before the led's gave up. I upgraded from the Razer Mamba 2014 after it basically did all of the same things as this mouse. Basically, I'm not going to buy a Razer product again after the Mamba 2014 and This one crapping out the same way. You could be lucky like one of my friends and ever see any of these problems.
I'm RMAing it to Razer soon. After that, when it messes up again, I will never come back to razer for mice. Pros:. It worked when I first got it. You can switch between wired and wireless.
Cons:. Had to create an account to configure my mouse.
Software was buggy and crashed often. On-screen dpi display on occasionally worked, when the software was behaving. Never really felt 'right', even when calibrated with Destructor 2 mouse mat. It always felt like it took too much force to get it moving, and then too much force to stop it. Other Thoughts: Here's the real problem, though: this mouse stopped functioning less than a month after I got it. At first, the lights would stop working.

Which is disappointing, but not showstopping. Then it wouldn't move vertically, only horizontally. I tried cleaning off the sensor, thinking that maybe a single invisible hair was throwing a wrench in the works, but to no avail. Then the cursor started jittering back and forth as it tracked so I thought maybe it was a radio interference problem, but no position of the dock worked correctly and it still did the same thing when plugged in with USB. Then the lighting turned solid red and the cursor stopped moving entirely. I could get it to work for an hour or so if I unplugged it and plugged it back in (wired is the only way it will work now) but then it just dies again. It's not even worth my time to return it and I just bought a Coolermaster Mizar instead for a quarter of the price.
It'll be my third one in 2 years, all of which are still in service. I bought this as a supposed upgrade, but I'll never buy another Razer product again. Pros: -Very ergonomical and just a nice design all in all -Cool RGB lights -Good sensor -Seems better built than the previous gen Cons: -The connection issue is starting to really P.O me, when playing or using regularly the connection drops for a second or two and it will pick back up, then it will do it again within a matter of seconds, that alone should be enough for ANYONE who is serious about gaming to never buy this. I’m not sure if it’s the mouse itself that’s causing the issue but even when it’s in wired mode it still does it, not as much but it does.
I may consider selling or returning. The synapsoys software razer uses is turning into an Apple style lock you down can’t do anything use or customize unless you sell your soul to them type of deal. That goes for every one of their modern products, you can’t do anything unless you use that software. On boot the program pops up and says synchronizing with cloud, are you serious?
Here is what Razer emailed me: Please try the following suggestions and let us know how they affect the cursor movement of your mouse: 1. Install the latest drivers and firmware (if available) from www.razerzone.com. Try cleaning the sensor lens with a Q-tip and some alcohol, let it dry for 5mins and try again. Please use Isopropyl Rubbing Alcohol 99% for this purpose. You do not want to use Rubbing alcohol that contains ethanol.
Isopropyl Alcohol 99% or 100% pure is commonly found in most all drug stores and medicine cabinets. Further cleaning can be obtained by using some 'air in a can' or 'canned air' to blow out any dust on and around the sensor assembly. Try using another mouse pad or surface and see what affect this has. Try the mouse on another computer to see if you have the same results. It is not necessary to install the drivers, as all the basic mouse functions such as cursor movement should work without installing any drivers. This is otherwise known as Plug and Play.
When the cursor is not moving, do the buttons on the mouse work? Does the LED on the mouse light up? Try using the mouse on a plain white piece of paper. This has actually fixed some cases for us and we want to try everything.
